A Mawdesley care home is celebrating after receiving a positive inspection score following a visit from the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
Stocks Hall Mawdesley, in Hall Lane, has been rated 'good' by the Care Quality Commission in all five assessment areas following its unexpected inspection in September.
Registered Manager, Faye Cooper says: “We are so pleased with our recent CQC inspection and we have worked very hard to achieve this. Our team at Stocks Hall Mawdesley is exceptional. We have thanked all our team for helping to implement the changes we have made over the past 3 years and for providing our residents with excellent care and companionship, we couldn’t have achieved anything without them.”
“We are constantly thinking of new ideas and ways in which we can make our home even better. With this in mind, our next target is an outstanding rating.”
Stocks Hall Mawdesley is the sixth home to be built by the well established, reputable company Stocks Hall Care Homes Ltd. The home can care for up to 42 people providing accommodation for people who require personal or nursing care.
Inspectors rated the service as caring, well-led, safe, effective and responsive.
The report states: “Stocks Hall is a purpose-built nursing home, which has been designed to a very high standard.”
“During our inspection we toured the premises and found the home to be warm, comfortable and clean throughout. It was safe, well maintained and designed to a high standard.”
“People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible; the policies and systems in the service supported this practice.”
The report added: “We observed staff members treating people who used the service with dignity and respect throughout our inspection and their privacy was consistently promoted. Staff members we saw displayed a lovely, gentle approach towards those who lived at Stocks Hall.”
“There was a comprehensive activities programme in place, which helped people to maintain leisure interests and prevented boredom.”
The inspectors added: “Everyone we spoke with commented highly on the standard of care provided and the quality of the staff team.”
