The poppy is surely the most poignant and evocative memorial of the First World War.
And for the past two years the Wool & Chat Group, based at St John's Church Hall in School Lane, Burscough have been making these wonderful poppy displays to commemorate the end of the conflict.
Pictured - just a small example of the thousands of poppies that will decorate the village from the end of October to 12th November; every local shop/business along with each Lathom and Burscough school are taking part - lamp posts, trees, shop fronts and railings will all be decorated to create a stunning display.
And Booths will also have a display including a horse sculpture kindly loaned from Pangea in Ormskirk to be decorated in poppies.
The Wool & Chat Group meets every Monday afternoon between 1pm - 3pm (except Bank Holidays) and everyone is welcome; for more information please contact Sue Hodgkins on 01704 893806.
