Ribble Estuary S&R Team are appealing for funds to help them in the search for missing Adam Seaton and other emergency situations in the future.
Paul Sherman the man leading the search said...
The search for missing Southport man Adam Seaton, whose car was found adjacent to marshland at Marshside, Southport on August 9th, has highlighted the fact that members of the various emergency services do not possess the detailed local knowledge or resources to be able to effectively mount a search operation across the marshland of the Ribble estuary.
We would like to provide the group of local volunteers who stepped in to fulfil that need with the equipment they require in order that they can continue to provide a vital service in an emergency situation on the Ribble estuary.

just found this interesting article on the Lytham Lifeboat page.
It states that Adam apparently planned to walk across the estuary.

A little bit of research and maybe you wouldn't have felt the need to detract from the news item.
