Cut glass
I have this small cut glass vase given to me from a friend many years ago, it has a beautiful deep blue almost purple colour to it and stands approximately 8" tall, the only marking on it is a very small mark of Walsh on the bottom which is barely visable.
I often florish it with small flowers and it gives a lovely "ding" when clipped at the top, can you advise me exactly what it is and a price?

Hi MBF,
Going by the photograph your little vase is indeed cut glass.
The very deep cobolt blue colour would make me think it was not old but quite new. Items like this come in from countries like Poland. Made to look like an item from Venice.
In the photograph I cannot see the purple you describe.
The name Walsh interests me. The Company was famous for pressed glass and blown glass.
With out holding the item it is difficult to judge age on a piece of glass. To Me I would say it would not have a great value more than a few pounds. I am sorry, cut glass in the antique world at the present time does not have much of a value.
