Tea set
Hi John, pretty sure this tea set is not antique but seeing as you like your china I was hoping you could help me with this. The tea set used to belong to my Nan but unfortunately the mikk jug was broken a few years back. I eould love to be able to replace it but would not know where to start. It does have markings on the bottom, written in gold paint but I can't make them out.
Any info on what factory they are from, age of them etc, would be appreciated, thanks

I have seen this set many times before, quite common. I cannot read the marks in your photograph. Made from a red terracotta type materiel, easily chips. Made just before WW1 and just after in Derbyshire/Northampton area if I remember correctly. The set is made with out the red dots as well, The red dot is probably made nearer the 1930's than the plane ones that are more Victorian looking. There is also a black teapot made in the Victorian area pre 1901 that may match your broken one.
I will keep my eye out for you.
They are not very valuable, Tea pot, milk, sugar £20
