Thanks for your help John. The block prints you suggested were worthy of further consideration have now been checked out by Bonhams and it appears they are originals by Tranquillo Marangoni. However, Bonhams aren't interested as they are too 'modern' for them.
Having googled him though, I am now in touch with his son who continues to run the family business and he is very anxious that I let him see what I have, which I've duly scanned. So all very exciting.
AND Bonhams tell me that a line drawing from 1913 (which looks as if my 7 year old grandson has done it) could be worth £1,000 to £1,500. So all very exciting stuff and thanks again for your input.
