  1. Human rights

At what point did we say that we were going repeal the HRA ? Where is the mandate ?

  2. YOUR COMMENTS:

  3. Just one of the many things that they are trying to forget about transferring into British Law alongside the Employment Rights in the name 'The Bonfire of Bureaucracy'

  4. Human Rights legislation enacted for the very best of reasons, allowing dodgy lawyers to hi-jack the laws to feather their own nest has been the only down side .

  5. Turkeys

When Brexit turkeys vote for Christmas, anything is possible!

  6. Theresa May has already lost the plot, she needs to be sectioned

  7. As a member of the Council of Europe, which is not connected with the EU, I don't see why anything has to change on the human rights side. Let's face it, this government isn't going turn around and say 'well, we don't think the ECHR goes far enough, we can do much more for human rights' are they?

I don't recall any huge outcry over 'taking back control' of our laws, as 'our laws' don't even cover the entire UK.

As members of the CoE, we are supposed to seek 'harmony, cooperation, good governance and human rights, accepting the principle of the rule of law and are able and willing to guarantee democracy, fundamental human rights and freedoms.'. Sounds quite good to me.

Unless, of course, you want to deregulate to take away fundamental worker's rights, human rights etc.

Now who would wish to do something like that I wonder?

Names like Mogg, Johnson etc; spring readily to mind.

  9. Can of worms!
The UK can draw up its own Human Rights Bill with some necessary changes.

1.Terrorists born out of the UK with UK dual or non UK and EU Nationality should be expelled.

    2. Convicted non UK born terrorist and hate preachers and paedophiles
and people traffickers should be expelled and not appealing on human rights.

3 Resident convicted EU Nationals non UK born should not have the same right of remain as Law abiding EU Nationals in the above named category's.

    4. Domestic violence convicted persons from out of the UK should not be allowed right to remain if their reason for being granted leave of stay in the UK is 'spouse' or 'children'.

I'd agree with all of those, without question. I might even go as far as any non-UK born nationals who don't want to abide by any of our laws should be expelled. If somebody doesn't like our laws, send them off to wherever they came from. And while I'm not an expert in the field, so we may already have that law, but if you are a criminal, you shouldn't be able to come here at all.

However, I get the feeling that it's a case of reducing rights than adding to them. If the powers that be were to keep the fundamental rights as they are, but just change those you've listed, I'd be quite happy.

I just don't think that's the direction they want to take.

What direction are you worried about?

I only foresee changes to the law which have caused victims to be
affected by the law breaker and changes in responsibility for Nationals
not born in the UK after Brexit.

Your first 3 amendments are already available, this country is simply far too slow to use them, in fact we aren't obliged to accept criminals from anywhere, we can even eject EU nationals who can't support themselves when they first arrive.

Your 4th amendment should never have arisen this only come from our own legal vultures, few weeks backs was reading of a convicted criminal fighting eviction on partner and child grounds, yet said partner and child had no contact and had a restraining order against the criminal, yet of course the lawyer will persist as long as we pick up the bill.

Worker's rights. Right to legal assembly. Anything that affects our freedoms or removes our rights as they are now.

    Not in my experience.

A mother and children claim asylum on the grounds of domestic abuse.

The husband has never been prosecuted.
Victims cannot or won't in the country she came from.

The husband receives leave to stay in the UK on human rights grounds
that his wife and children are here.
He does not have a criminal record.

Husband continues to control wife's bank account and liberty and occasionally repeats acts of physical domestic violence when his verbal threats fail to stop the wife from calling the police.

You and I are supporting these 2 family's (as a 'separated' couple it is 2 rents) and many others similar in poverty and misery and a vicious circle.

Some aspects must change after Brexit.

I am more concerned with the rights of victims compromised by
the EU and Schengen which has taken power away from British autonomy.
