The funeral was held yesterday of a man who was very well known in the local garage trade.
Steve Cosens, 58, was blessed with a sunny disposition in his job at Trafford Brake Services off Platt Lane, Burscough, dispensing wit and wisdom along with car parts and accessories to thousands of customers down the years; he was appointed a director there in January 1997.
He hoped to move soon to his 'dream home' on Calder Avenue, Ormskirk; as such he'd go there most nights to work on his project, and was looking forward to moving from Thornton near Crosby once it was finished.
Tragically, it took its toll and he died of a heart attack last week; Trafford Brakes was closed yesterday as a mark of respect for big Steve who endeared himself to everyone he met.
