Folk have been paying thir own silent tribute at the spot where well known Ormskirk pensioner Barbara Berry, 73 was tragically killed last week.
Family and friends have been leaving flowers at the Park Road crossing and yesterday MP Rosie Cooper told QLocal of her 'sadness' after the fatality.
Yesterday, she told QLocal: "The loss of any life on our roads is deeply distressing and incredibly sad. My thoughts and prayers are with the family who have lost a loved one.
“I have contacted the police in relation to this incident. We must await the outcome of their investigations to better understand the specific circumstances of this tragic incident.
“Throughout my time as MP, I have worked with residents and community groups to campaign for improved road safety across West Lancashire calling on the relevant highways bodies to take the necessary action to protect both drivers and pedestrians.
"One fatal incident on our roads is one too many.”
