It's been eight months since local businessman Chris Wootton who runs cleaning firm Poppies demanded that the County Council make utility companies 'clean up their act' in Ormskirk.
He was referring to how the authority seems to abrogate its responsibilities (as the highway authority) in making utility companies finish repairs by restoring the carriageway to its original condition after working there.
Back in September he copied in the busy QLocal news desk after sending some 24 photos to Ian Gill at WLBC, asking they be forwarded to the appropriate officer at LCC.
Did anything happen?
What do you think?
Yesterday, QLocal's Roger Blaxall took these photos in and around the town centre - Electricity NW were the last to work there after a power cut last weekend; the company's simply tarmacced over its repair rather than restore the block paving outside Dorothy Perkins on Moor St.
LCC invested a lot of money 25 years or so ago pedestrianising Ormskirk town centre and even more around five years ago - remember the row over folk falling in the drainage channels?
Isn't it about time someone at LCC highways took the errant utility companies to task?
That's exactly what Blaxall has asked the LCC PR office; watch this space - or not as the case may be...

Quite agree pedestrianised paving looks a shambles what a shame. Not helped by the amount of cars still driving through. Come on council sort it out it is your responsibility.
