A rail strike, continuing emergency roadworks and warm June weather all combined and conspired to make it a 'perfect storm' for frustrated Ormskirk drivers this morning.
This was the chaotic scene at the junction of Burscough Rd. and Derby St. at around 8.40am; that Timewells coach driver had little option but to mount the kerb near the former magistrates court as he inched along Derby St. looking for a gap to pull into the inside lane over the railway bridge.
Let's hope the roadworks are finished soon; electricity contractors have now closed off entry to Derby St. at its junction with Stanley St. making for even more traffic battling to get through town...
