Some great news from Amanda Brooks at inspirational charity Spartac!

She recently recieved this wonderful email from the organisers of the popular Burscough Scarecrow competition which took part recently:

'Tonight we’re passing on not one, but two big THANK YOUs to all of our Scarecrow Competition entrants and to everyone who bought a Scarecrow Trail Map.

Proceeds from the entry fees and map sales came to a heart-warming £400 which we’ve been out distributing to two locally-chosen good causes this week.

From the shortlist of causes nominated, the Scarecrow team chose Spartac Gymnastics Club and Burscough Methodist Church Food Bank to each receive a share of the donations.

Spartac is a primarily disability gymnastics club, run by the Active Therapy Foundation charity, which trains at Edge Hill.

Their welfare officer, Amanda lives right here in Burscough and was responsible for creating an impressive gymnast scarecrow display herself! The money donated from the Scarecrow Festival will go towards the costs of helping the team travel to the 2023 World Gymnaestrada to represent GB.
