Children’s musician, David Gibb has teamed up with three-time children’s Grammy Nominee Brady Rymer from the USA to bring an exciting new family music event to Lancashire!

‘Songs Across The Pond’ is a collaboration between UK children’s musician David Gibb and US based musician Brady Rymer, and the duo will visit Ormskirk as part of a national tour during October half term.

The show will take place at Ormskirk Library on Tuesday 23 October at 2pm. Tickets - priced at £18 (Family of 3) / £22 (Family of 4) with additional tickets £7 each - are available directly from the library staff or by calling 01254 660360.

Ever since the Beatles took the USA by storm in the early 1960s, there has been has been a healthy tradition of musical collaboration and exchange of ideas between American and British artists.

Now, for the very first time, the world of family music is about follow suit. Songwriter and performer David Gibb has teamed up with three-time Grammy Nominee Brady Rymer to put together a very special tour, showcasing some of the best family music on either side of the Atlantic.

Entitled ‘Songs Across The Pond’, the tour will feature Gibb and Rymer performing on each other’s favourite songs, as well as some brand new compositions, which they’ve written and arranged together specially for the show. It will be Brady Rymer’s first time performing in the UK and also the first time two family musicians from different countries have collaborated in such a way.

David Gibb shared his enthusiasm about the launch of this new collaboration: “I’m really excited to be bringing Brady Rymer to the UK. I’ve been a big fan of his music for a long time and I know families over here are going to absolutely love him. It’s so important for children and their parents to have brilliant, high quality music to enjoy together, and Brady fits this bill perfectly!”

Both musicians have a talent for writing brilliant, engaging and tuneful songs that the whole family can enjoy together. Families will be introduced to a wide range of musical instruments and genres and, with plenty of chances to join in and singalong, this is a show that will have the whole family up and dancing in no time!

Brady Rymer added: “I instantly became a fan of David’s after hearing his charming and radiant album, Letters Through Your Door. What a sweet surprise to strike up a friendship, write a few tunes together and take this show on the road. Can’t wait to make my maiden voyage across the pond, join him on this cool musical adventure and share our music with kids and families in the UK!”

‘Songs Across The Pond’ has been brought to Lancashire with support from Big Imaginations, the children’s theatre consortium for the North West. It forms part of Spot On Lancashire’s Autumn season of touring, which includes a number of international performances.

Spot On Lancashire is a county wide service which enables people living in remote and rural communities to enjoy high quality live arts events on their doorstep. It works in partnership with over 200 volunteers and pop ups in over 50 different small places each year. It enables volunteers to chose and host professional companies and its support makes shows which could only otherwise be see in urban arts centres affordable to smaller communities.
