A charity challenge which inspired a mixture of runners, walkers and cyclists to tackle a distance of 5-miles and donate £5 to the Cystic Fibrosis Trust has been declared a great success!
Participants aged from two to eighty two joined in with locations ranging from Buckinghamshire, Leicestershire, Huddersfield, North Wales, Wirral and Wigan to our own area of West Lancashire.
The distance was cheerfully jogged, walked, cycled or run and one person even covered her 5 miles by tethered swimming!
The event has raised over £1,400 for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust with more than 700 miles travelled.
Margaret Ellams, Chair of Ormskirk & District Branch of the Trust told QLocal: “This has been a real fun event and we’re very grateful to everyone who took up the Challenge.
"There has been such a lot of enthusiasm from everyone taking part culminating in the Wear Yellow Day run of 5miles when runners encountered a mixture of weather conditions beginning with a downpour moving to lovely sunshine and ending with a deluge! They didn’t mind it was all in a good cause.
"Sincere thanks to all who have raised such a magnificent sum for our charity."
And it’s not too late to donate:
