A number of local drivers are counting the cost of expensive damage to their wheels and tyres near the new Highgrove park development in Ormskirk.
They've hit a damaged kerb stone near the new Taylor Wimpey development on High Lane; our thanks to John Peden who contacted the busy QLocal newsdesk on Tuesday with these pictures of his damaged wheel and tyre off his Mitsubishi Outlander.
John pulled up in the nearby layby to examine the damage to be joined by two other drivers minutes later - the matter's been reported to LCC Highways, Taylor Wimpey and the Police.
Said John: "A lady who pulled up behind me said she was facing a bill of around £2000 to repair her wheels and tyres."

Fake news, he shouldn't be driving on the central divider, that is for pedestrians to stand on, not cars to drive over, it's about 4 inches high, so of course it will damage tyres

The bollards are continually knocked down at night due to poor lighting or at times no lighting . This area of High Lane is very narrow and unlit ! So cars can not see the Island at night . It is dangerous . I drive on this route regularly and I can assure you that this is not ' FAKE ' news and no one has deliberately driven close to the central divider . Far from it . It needs proper lighting so cars can see it .

I've seen lots of people drive over the divider in Broad daylight, and the incidents mentioned on this article took place during the day, not the night

Oooh, that is not good at all. I think that it will be very expensive to repair all these. Fifty cars, damn! Fifty! If I was in place of these drivers then I would be very angry. Besides, it needs to find where to buy new spare parts. By the way, I know a good website you can also check seep cycle battery chargers on bestfordriver.com Use it.
