Free taster sessions start later this month in Ormskirk, Burscough and Skem. hosted by Carousel Music and Movement in a bid to 'brighten lives through music’.
Said Caroline Derbyshire from Carousel: "We want to brighten lives through music, irrespective of age, ability, background or previous musical experiences.
“We use music, movement, singing and percussion activities as a platform to help people improve their health and wellbeing.
“Our fun, interactive, adaptable sessions are designed to suit varying group needs including (but not exclusively) people feeling isolated; those with mental health conditions; the elderly; and adults with additional learning needs."
She promised: "Our sessions will create an all-round feeling of wellbeing and leave you with a smile on your face, wanting more!”
Health & Wellbeing FREE taster morning sessions:
Thursday 24th June - Tanhouse Community Centre, Skelmersdale
First group: 9.30am - 10.30am, second group: 11am - 12 noon
Includes coffee/tea-break; plenty of nearby parking
Thursday 24th June - Stanley Club, Liverpool Rd, Burscough
First group: 1.30pm - 2.30pm, second group: 3pm - 4pm
Coffee/tea-break between 2.30pm to 3pm for both groups to mingle and have a chat; venue has its own car park
Friday 25th June - New Church House, Ormskirk
First group: 9.30am-10.30am, second group: 11am - noon, with an Adult Learning Needs group from 1pm - 3.30pm; lots of car parking nearby
After the free taster sessions, prices for health and wellbeing groups will be £5pp, and £10pp for the learning needs afternoon sessions.
And a disco for adults with learning needs is being held on Friday July 30th at 7pm - 9.30pm at New Church House, Ormskirk and then the last Friday of every month, cost £7pp.
All venues comply with Government Covid guidelines!
