Burscough flood victim Bernie Webster's poured cold water on a recent letter delivered on behalf of MP Rosie Cooper detailing Network Rail's pledge to work with the authorities in dealing with continued flooding on Crabtree Lane.
Note his comments!
Bernie hit the headlines when he bought his own powerful diesel pump to tackle the vast amounts of water which frequently overwhelmed local drains and culverts.
A plaque he inherited from his father in his front room shows what the authorities are up against!
This afternoon he told QLocal reporter Roger Blaxall: "Hi Roger, I have had no contact from any of the authorities regarding any starting dates or intention to survey.
"Rosie had some leaflets dropped off here for us last night, but they only indicate that work will be funder for an investigation.
"Network Rail were informed of the location of these drains at the start of the year but decided not to look too hard otherwise they might find something they don’t want to see, which in turn reminds them of their responsibility, but more importantly, liabilities.
"Please let me know if you want any further information and I will get it to you.
Regards, Bernie W."
