MP Rosie Cooper has again received assurance from Network Rail that it'll continue its monthly litter pick on the pathway between Ormskirk train and bus station.
A regular spot for littering, MP Rosie has long raised the issues with the authorities to ensure the area is kept clean.
Unfortunately, despite the authorities carrying out regular cleaning, it seems pedestrians continue to dispose of their rubbish along the pathway.
Said Rosie: “I am grateful that Network Rail have reiterated their commitment that they will carry out a litter pick of the pathway between Ormskirk bus and train stations on a four weekly rota, but commuters must play a part.
“This is a gateway to the town and it is appalling that some of those using the station path don’t put their rubbish in the bins provided either side of the walkway.
“I will continue to ensure Network Rail carry out their duties and encourage residents to report to me if they see the area full of litter. However, I would also call on users to consider the environment and use the bins provided for their rubbish.
“Network Rail have also agreed to remove some of the leaf fall to further tidy up the area.”
