A Burscough recovery firm helped Police seize a 'supercar' after an incident in Southport on Sunday.

Patrols attended Marine Drive following reports that hundreds of vehicles were gathered in the area, with many being driven in an anti-social manner.

Police spoke to numerous drivers, issued eight warnings under Section 59 of the Police and Reform Act 2002, and conducted roadside breath tests and drugs wipes.

Officers seized a black McLaren under Section 59, as the vehicle was being driven in an anti-social manner; the owner, a 30-year-old man from the Liverpool area, had been issued with a Section 59 warning previously with the car seized for a repeat offence. Hid car was taken from the scene by CPS Recovery.

Inspector Carl McNulty: “We know that driving in an anti-social manner can cause significant nuisance, stress and danger to our communities and that’s why we continue to work proactively disrupt those who behave in such a manner.

“We hope that the seizure yesterday shows that if you are issued with a Section 59 warning because of your behaviour and you ignore us, there are no excuses, we will take your vehicle away.

“Rest assured that this manner of driving will not be tolerated on the roads of Merseyside, and we will continue to respond to concerns raised by the public.”

It's this kind of lazy cut-and-paste 'journalism' that I've seen Roger accuse the Champion and Advertiser of in recent years, when he's just as bad (if not worse).

You know full-well that wasn't the point I was making Roger (although you must be really desperate for a story if you have to resort to West Lancs being the origin of the recovery vehicle to make it in any way relevant to your readers).

Did you not read through the press release before you posted it unedited, with the directions in the last paragraph to report anti-social behaviour to Merseyside Police? A quick scan through it should have flagged up taking that out - this is QLocal Ormskirk after all...
