Garden lovers will be spoilt for choice in the coming weeks with the NGS National Garden Scheme Open Gardens events locally.

Sunday 3rd July: First year opening Booths Farm in Aughton L39 7HE a large country garden awash with roses and many other interesting features and 79 Crabtree Lane Burscough L40 0RW a plant lover's garden filled with many rare and unusual plants visited by garden lovers from far and wide.
Sunday 10th July: Gorse Hill Nature Reserve L39 7HB a wildflower meadow brimming with a wide variety of flowers and grasses butterflies and bees and a wildlife pond patrolled with dragonflies and damselflies and 72, Ludlow Drive Ormskirk L39 1LF, a town garden overflowing with colourful herbaceous and shrub borders, a gravel garden, roses and clematis.
Admission to all the gardens is from 11am, with tea and delicious cakes at all of them, and plants for sale at some.
