The West Lancs and Merseyside Myeloma Support Group have received a generous donation of £1,000 from David Wilson Homes to be used to further their aims of early diagnosis of Myeloma.
They have already funded GP training in their area and have organised for a medical professional to travel to an international meeting concerning Myeloma - a blood cancer - and bring the latest information back and report to other health professionals to aid their cause.
Their group supports many patients and carers who are affected by Myeloma in an informal, friendly non-clinical atmosphere.
They meet on the first Tuesday of every month at 2pm in Ormskirk at the Guide headquarters next to Ormskirk Rugby Club; for more information visit www.wlm-myeloma.uk
