The children’s section of the parish church graveyard's no longer overgrown and neglected after more than 30 local residents and Our West Lancashire members and supporters devoted their Saturday morning to weeding, hedge trimming and tidying.
Adrian Owens from Our West Lancashire who organised the event told QLocal this morning: “The condition of cemeteries in an area says something about a community and on Saturday, our community showed that the youngest among the sadly deceased of Ormskirk should rest in an area that is tended and remembered.
“Many of the name stones were completely covered by vegetation and it was quite emotional seeing their names reappear as volunteers respectfully cleaned them.”
