Merseyside Police executed a warrant at an address in Rainhill on Christmas Day (Tuesday, 25 December 2018) and recovered 78 cannabis plants.
Community Policing Officers attended the address in Ellaby Road following a report shortly before 11.40am that there was a cannabis farm in two rooms upstairs at the property.
A warrant was executed at the address a total of 78 plants recovered along with growing equipment.
The estimated annual yield of the cannabis farm was £312,000.
Acting Inspector Neil Birkett said: "Our efforts to disrupt the criminal activity of those who seek to cause harm to the most vulnerable people in our society continue 365 days a year.
“Criminal groups involved in the growing of cannabis are often involved in other serious organised crime and they often use residential houses such as this in the heart of our communities.
"Our communities can help us stop these groups, who are only interested in making money, from turning houses into potential death traps. Nobody wants to live or work next door to these places and we would ask that if you believe someone is using a property for this purpose, please tell us so we can take positive action and find those responsible for setting them up."
Anyone with information is asked to contact Merseyside Police social media desk via Twitter @MerPolCC or Facebook Merseyside Police CC. Absolutely correct. I believe that such underground cannabis farms should be closed. There are licensed marijuana growers who create cbd oils. For example, https://blessedcbd.co.uk make a great product. I use their cbd oils to suppress depression and chronic fatigue.
