A flurry of festive family events are being planned in Rufford next month!

On Saturday December 2, the Christmas Fair - from 2 - 4 at the village hall - gives children the chance to visit Santa in his grotto, while adults can enjoy homemade refreshments, stalls, a grand raffle and fun games.

The following week sees villagers turn out for Rufford‘s Christmas lights switch-on - at 7pm on Wednesday December 6 - when Hesketh Bank Silver Band provides festive music around the tree located outside Rufford Pharmacy.

On Saturday, December 9, families can enjoy a ‘Winter Wonderland Experience’ at Oaklands on Flash Lane, when a magical walk surrounded by lights, music and festive sights including a Nativity runs from 2pm to 6pm. Refreshments will be available.

Then, on Sunday December 10, villagers will (like the wise men) be able to follow a star trail, around Rufford to St Mary’s church. At each star station will be a portion of the Christmas story.

From December 17 to January 6, inside the church, windows will be decorated with Christmas angels, bringing visitors the good news of the festive season.

On Christmas Eve, a live Nativity featuring local children forms part of the family Christingle service at St Mary’s. Always popular, the service starts at 3.15pm.
