Have you spotted one?
There are about fifty automatic traffic counters on roads in and around west Lancashire as the County Council launches its largest ever traffic survey of the borough.
The counters not only count vehicle flow but can recognise the difference between cars, vans, light trucks, HGV's, buses and coaches.
Yesterday, an LCC media officer told QLocal: "We're currently updating our data on traffic movements around West Lancashire.
"There are automatic traffic counters in a number of places, and our contractors will be carrying out roadside surveys over the next couple of weeks.
"We're grateful for people's cooperation with the surveys as the information gathered will help us to accurately assess the potential impact of planning applications for development, and provide essential evidence when considering any proposed improvements to the local road network."
No word there of a by pass for Ormskirk - but we live in hope...
