It was a classic Victor (I don't believe it!') Meldrew moment as this amazed Stokers assistant stepped out onto Derby St. this morning, rubbing his eyes as he watched LCC contractors repair the bumpy carriageway.
They've done the inside lane with presumably the other half being done tomorrow.
Statement from LCC media team: "A specialist team is currently repairing the potholes on Derby Street in Ormskirk by using an innovative technique that uses hot applied material called TexPatch.
"This involves the potholes being cleaned and filled in, before being covered by a neat square patch that seals all of the joints.
"We anticipate that the work will have been completed by the end of the week, with a view to providing a long lasting repair."
