Ormskirk's busy Fiveways junction ground to a halt mid morning as contractors put new safety camera poles into position at four key locations.

There were long queues on the A59 as a wagon from Bolton, Lancs. maneuvered into position from Southport Road to deliver its load.

Work on the safety scheme - only the second in Lancashire and given the green light by the Home Office - will be completed in the next few weeks.
