Folk music fans can enjoy a great night out at the Chapel Gallery which is hosting some fabulous entertainers in its Event Space. The Gallery folk nights will feature great music and fantastic food, starting with Country Folk & LocTup Together on Thursday 11 April.
LocTup Together's concert sets are delivered with powerful voices working in close harmony, sometimes with subtle guitar accompaniment; although they take their music seriously their zany, self-deprecating sense of humour is never far away.Performing with LocTup will be the Country Folk, a resident band of the Gild Folk Club in Formby with a great repertoire and energy to excite the audience.
On Thursday 23 May the Bram Taylor Band provide the entertainment. The band's popular leader Bram Taylor has a wealth of experience having established a fine reputation both here and abroad, performing at folk festival, folk clubs, arts centres and other concert venues in the UK, USA, Canada and Europe.
The third concert in this trio of sessions will be performed by Bob Fox, a singer who has been regarded as one of the iconic voices of British Folk music for more than 40 years. On Thursday 20 June, don't miss this chance to experience his warm, rich voice, virtuoso guitar style and melodeon playing skills. Expect to hear songs of love, joy, work and humour as he performs material from War Horse, newly-written songs from the New Radio Ballad Series and old favourites from his many recordings.
Tickets for the Country Folk & LocTup Together and Bram Taylor Band are£10 each. For Bob Fox they are £15 each. All tickets must be purchased in advance via www.chapelgallery.org.uk or from the Gallery. The Gallery will be open for food and drink from 6pm and music is expected to start at 7.30pm. Menus are available on the Gallery website www.chapelgallery.org.uk.
John Harrison, Director of Development and Regeneration, said: "Folk music fans should make sure they get tickets for these fantastic shows and come along and enjoy the artists."
