An inspirational Aughton fundraiser's getting on his bike for a 101 mile ride - all in just seven hours.
22-year-old Charlie McGee's been inspired by his grandfather Peter Marrs who lost his brother, Tommy, to the devastating illness, Motor Neurone Disease 31 years ago.
Peter's passion to improve life for people with the illness and to bring in funds for them and for research into the disease has led to the charity bike ride on 30 May.
Charlie got the cycling bug just over six months ago to get fit and has decided to set himself a challenge - and help others at the same time.
His gruelling round trip which will take him from west to east Lancashire including Burnley and Blackburn.
“It will be the furthest I have attempted and with 8,138ft total elevation gain it’s an absolute killer of a ride.
"But it’s also a fantastic opportunity to support a charity that myself and my family are very passionate about,” said Charlie.
“Anyone who wants to join me on the ride, at their own pace and risk, is welcome to come along and they can contact me via the Liverpool branch of the MND Association,” he added.
“The more backing I can get for this venture the better as it will all help raise much needed cash.
"I have set up a JustGiving page with a £1,000 target but it would be great if I could smash that so I urge people to support this challenge."
