Here is the news from the BBC - a very successful Burscough boat company!
Burscough Boats is on the crest of a wave after winning a top prize at the recent Crick boat show.
The show at the Northamptonshire marina attracts thousands of canal boat enthusiasts from all over the UK and Europe - and it looks like it'll be plain sailing for the next year or so for company owner Ormskirk's Gary Welsh and his team of expert boat builders!
Both narrowboats and wide beams were on display, and with more than 40 boats on the water in the marina, and with 10 to view on land in the centre of the Show Village, Crick 2018 had more boats than ever.
The 'Favourite Boat in Show' award is a tradition of Crick; there are two trophies, one for the most admired narrowboat and one for the most admired widebeam, as voted for by visitors.
And the visitors' choice for the most admired widebeam was Burscough Boats 'What's The Hurry', built for a London businessman.
Success has led to more orders at the busy yard on the Ringtail industrial estate ...
"I'm really proud of the award and very proud of the team I have working for me," said Gary.
