Officers have received around 2000 representations in response to the consultation that ended on 13 December. They are still being tallied. At the time of the last local plan, at the same stage, there were 844 representations. This huge increase in the number of representations reflects the concern and anger felt about these plans by very many residents. Representations can be readonline and some of them make interesting reading. Secondly, we wanted to draw your attention to a concerning apparent connection between Savills, a leading property agent and Lord Derby’s Estate. Savills have been advising the Borough council on establishing a profit-making house building company, while Lord Derby’s Estates are one of the large landowners set to benefit very significantly financially if green belt is released under the new Local Plan Preferred Options.Our West Lancashire councillor and Finance Spokesman, Ian Davis has issued apress release and written to the council’s Chief Executive about the matter and now the possible connection between Savills and Lord Derby’s Estate has been made public, the person concerned has altered his public profile yesterday to remove all reference to Savills.
