Matthew Reynolds, a talented 18-year-old student filmmaker from Ormskirk, has written and directed a short, heartwarming Christmas film that's being premiered at the Chapel Gallery next month.

The former St Bede's pupil, his brother John and Conor O'Neill have produced the project and worked together as the non-profit filmmaking group 'Some Guys With A Camera' for nearly three years.

They've found success with their exciting new project and have been invited to show 'Noel' on the big screen in Ormskirk at the Chapel Gallery's brilliant cinema room.

Described as 'a heartwarming Christmas story' it follows Noel (Conor O'Neill), a naïve but kind-hearted young man who still believes in Father Christmas, as he copes with the death of his Nana and encounters his first love (Morgana Norcross).

Said Matt: "Noel explores different themes to conventional Christmas films such as grief, young romance and superstition, something we really enjoyed experimenting with.

"We cannot wait to showcase our passion project on the big screen and we are sure other Ormskirk residents will love seeing locations they recognise in a film, something very refreshing and new.

"We filmed at recognisable locations all around the town such as YMCA's charity shop."
