Hard working county council contractors and workmen (and one woman) played it safe last night, only starting resurfacing Wigan Road after seven o' clock, and finishing in the early hours.

It was perfect weather to crack on with the job too; they'll be here again tonight and hope to finish for Thursday.

So one minute you're writing an article to slag off this resurfacing happening, the next you're singing the praises of LCC now they're doing it...

It was the same with the closure of Yew Tree Road to through-traffic - you criticise it one minute, then you speak to local residents who are ecstatic about it and you're fully supportive all of a sudden.
