When is a water filled traffic barrier not a water filled traffic barrier?
Easy... when it's not filled with water - as one angry VW driver discovered this morning when one flayed across the road to hit the front of his car on St Helens Road.
It's just the latest incident in a long line of problems that have angered local businesses; Jill Martin of The Edge of Ormskirk café phoned police three times this morning to alert them of safety dangers after watching the barriers - installed on Friday as part of safer Covid 19 travel in the town centre - take on a life of their own in the windy weather.
Eventually, they were moved to the roadside with a contractor confirming that once they've been filled with water they will be put back in the middle of the road.
