July 1^st saw the start of the new Rotary Year - and the appointment of Steve Graham as the new president of Ormskirk Clocktower Rotary Club.

Steve, who lives in Aughton, was a founder member of the Club, and is full of enthusiasm at taking on the Presidency of the club as it celebrates 10 years since its inauguration.

A family man, he is married to Julie, with three children.

Last weekend there were several local events the Club supported while Steve was ‘brand new’ in post; on Friday evening the Club hosted a concert at Scarisbrick Village Hall, seeing performances from the ‘Tick-Tock’Community Choir and ‘Cantores’, a school choir from St Christopher’s C of E High School, Accrington.

This concert raised £320 to support the Pearl of Africa Children’s choir and The Molly & Paul Foundation, a charity supporting orphaned children in Uganda.

Busy again on Saturday, Club members made Candy Floss at the Westhead Carnival raising £252.50p!

Said Steve: "This is a grand total of £572.50 funds raised in one weekend! A great start to our year!"
