It was quieter than usual in Ormskirk town centre today - and not just because it's the week after new year.
Three gates at the top of Church St. and Burscough St. and the bottom of Aughton St. were all shut for the first time in a bid to have the town centre traffic free between 10am and 4pm.
The move's been unanimously welcomed by shoppers.
999 access is now via Moor St. where no gates have been placed.
