What a wonderful way to discover the history of our area by listening to a talk by Carol Fenlon on ‘the influence of places in my writing’ in her novel ‘The Mere’.
Members of the walking group talked about this when they met to walk along the Leeds Liverpool Canal.
It has been a busy spring month with the Gardening Group’s visit to Bank Hall to see the snow-white carpet of snowdrops - every year the display gets more eye catching!
The speaker at our next monthly meeting on Thursday 21 March will be D Ben Rees on ‘Famous Liverpool Women’, I wonder if there will be any surprises!? Pictured is legendary MP, Bessie Braddock.
