An Ormskirk driver was feeling rather 'cut up' yesterday afternoon - and no wonder.
He contacted the busy QLocal newsdesk with a photo of 'white van man' in this Iveco which raced ahead of him from the Southport bound lane at the Fiveways junction, narrowly missing the metal barrier where two lanes become one. The van was later seen driving at around 55 in the 40 limit approaching Maghull.
Isn't it time for CCTV and ANPR cameras at the junction to catch and punish errant drivers like this?
Incidentally on a similar theme, here's a story from QLocal Southport on new green light cameras introduced by Merseyside Police:

Absolutely no evidence of any crime here, just another pathetic example of "news" which is actually a bunch of statements villfying a driver who may actually have done nothing wrong.
The Champ wouldn't post this..

Well done to Merseyside Police and Sefton council for trialling this . As the ' comment ' on the Southport web site states , Amber lights do not mean drive faster to jump the lights . It's the speed of vehicles jumping the lights . Slow down as lights turn to Amber and not speed up . Well done to Merseyside Police .hopefully once the results are out , it may be something that can help at the Fiveways Junction and Green Lane /County Road Junction .

It's illegal to use a phone whilst driving, and based on the photo it was taken from the drivers seat.

It is becoming quite clear on this site that Tom, Jamie , Minority Voice have a problem with Roger . Could I politely suggest you all deal with Roger privately with your ' problems ' . Rather than posting comments against Roger on the web site . A young boy has now suffered injuries on County Road and been air lifted to Alder Hey . Let's wish him the best and hope he has a speedy recovery .

If Roger doesn't like my criticisms of his work, he is more than welcome to respond to them either publicly or privately. I have complained to Roger privately before regarding offensive language used in his 'articles' and was given a justification as opposed to an apology.
If he wants to spend his time ridiculing a rival new source, and ignoring the complaints about his work, I will continue to point them out publicly.
