An Ormskirk road dubbed the 'Costa run' is re-opening when the final lockdown restrictions are lifted later this month.
Half of Yew Tree Road from its junction with County Road was blocked to all through traffic except for bikes last year to make it safer for pedestrians and cyclists to visit the town centre.
The partial closure to through traffic, implemented by Lancashire County Council, was part of a government initiative to help people safely visit local businesses as restrictions were eased.
The idea was to increase footfall while helping people to avoid public transport; now the County Council's confirmed that the Yew Tree Road measure will not become permanent, much to the dismay of locals who appreciated the lack of speeding 'yummy mummy' traffic driving to Costa on Burscough Road...

these reports are just getting embarrassing now….
‘yummy mummies driving to Costa’ …. Not even sure where to start with this, it’s blown my mind! Only females use Costa? Only females use Yew Tree Road? Why are they yummy? Why are they mums? Who says they are speeding? Are you actually a serious journalist?…. No need to answer the last one, it is clear you are not!
