A Rufford student from Edge Hill has bagged a job at Warner Bros. thanks to the skills she acquired throughout her degree, along with the University’s partnership with the Production Guild.

Final year Television Production Management student, Emily-Beth Roscoe always knew she wanted to work in film and television, so when the opportunity arose for her to have a chat with Guy Barker, financial controller and chair of the Production Guild, she jumped at the chance!

Emily will begin her role as a Production Accountant when she finishes her degree in May and will be based at Warner Bros. Studios in Leavesden.

Throughout her childhood, Emily came to Edge Hill for sporting events and swimming, so when it came to choosing which university she wanted to attend, it was the obvious choice.

Edge Hill University has partnered with The Production Guild of Great Britain to deliver the first university partnership to channel new talent into UK film and TV drama production offices.Edge Hill’s BA (Hons) degree in Television Production Management is now officially affiliated with The Production Guild, the UK’s leading membership organisation for those working in film and TV drama production.Course participants in their third year of study become ‘student members’ of the Production Guild, receiving industry advice, information and resources to help plan their career paths.

Upon graduation, their availability is promoted directly to the Production Guild’s membership of more than 950 members and 100 company affiliates, helping them find employment on active productions quickly and efficiently.

Said Emily: “I spent a year in industry where I spent some time in accounting which I found really interesting. Production Accountants track the finances involved with a film and are responsible for paying any outstanding invoices and inform the production crew of any leeway in the budget. I got the job by keeping in touch with Guy and was then invited to Warner Bros. Studios to meet the team.”
