Police were called to a police car RTA in Rufford yesterday afternoon which saw the busy A59 junction with Croston Road closed for around an hour.
This statement was released by the Police PR office this morning following an enquiry by QLocal Ormskirk reporter Roger Blaxall:
'We were called at 14:55 hours yesterday (3 October) to reports of a collision on Liverpool Road, Rufford. It involved two cars, one being a police vehicle.
The driver of the police car suffered an injury to his arm and was taken to Royal Preston Hospital. A second officer who was a passenger suffered minor injuries. The driver of the other car, a woman, received suspected minor injuries.Anyone who witnessed the collision should call us on 101 quoting log number 927 of 3 October.'
It's believed a former officer's wife was on hand to offer cups of tea to all involved.
