From local Police FB pages:
On Saturday afternoon, two off road bikes were seized from the fields surrounding Blackacre Lane, following reports made to police.
Permission had not been granted by any the land owners of the fields surrounding Blackacre Lane for use of off road bikes.
Bikes being driven antisocially can be seized by police under S59 of The Police Reform Act 2002, this includes when the bike has a noisy exhaust as the noise causes harrassment, alarm and distress to the local residents.
For a bike to be driven legally on the road, it must comply with the following:
Registered with the DVLA,
Registration plate on the front and rear of the vehicle,
Valid insurance,
Valid MOT,
Driver must hold a full driving licence,
We will continue our efforts to keep Blackacre Lane and the surrounding areas as safe as possible. As always, if you have any issues or wish to report off road bike activity, please call 101 or 999 if it is an emergency.
