The West Lancashire Ormskirk and Burscough branch of the international Project Linus have just raised £209 from a recent raffle and had a donation of £100 from The Rotary Club of Ormskirk Clocktower.
The prize in the raffle was a beautiful purple double bed sized quilt (pictured). This was finished by a clever member of the group after it was donated by a local man following the death of his wife - it's lovely to think that her hard work has reaped rewards following her death. And pictured are two new parents with a quilt donated to wrap their new arrival at the hospital.
The Rotary Club donation came from their ‘small grants’ scheme; the group make quilts and blankets for children and young people going through difficulties. They have donated over 400 quilts in the last 2 and a half years to Ormskirk hospital, Queenscourt hospice, Barnardo’s, local refugee families, and The Women’s Refuge.
