Ormskirk won the toss and chose to bat.

Tyler McGladdery and George Lavelle opened the batting; McGladdery was caught off the bowling of Scott Butterworth, mistiming a short delivery in the 3rd over with the total on 16.

Josh Bohannon joined Lavelle who after a cautious start proceeded to take the game to Bootle, scoring 125 runs from 25 overs until Lavelle was dismissed for a fine 68 off the bowling of New with the score at 141.

Garry Knight who was bowled by New in the for 17 in the 35th over. With 10 ten overs to go Alex Rankin joined Bohannon and the pair stepped up the pace of the innings. In particular Bohannon increased his rate significantly to raise the team total to 267 for 3 after 45 overs being more than ably assisted by Alex Rankin who was unbeaten on 39 in support of Bohannon's brilliant 128 not out.

Bootle's reply got off to slow start with Will Hale being dismissed in the 8th over with the score on 24. Skipper Nicky Caunce brought himself on to bowl in the 12th over and quickly made his mark with 2 wickets in one over including his opposite lbw and an outstanding caught and bowled to get rid of Vishal Tripathi.

Tight all round bowling from Omskirk was regularly rewarded with Bohannon taking 3 for 9 from 4 overs and even more remarkably Tom Hartley's 3 wickets for no runs from 4 overs; Bootle had subsided to 86 all out from 26 overs leaving Ormskirk victors by 174 runs.

A great all round performance by Ormskirk who fielded their strongest team this season who in addition to Josh Bohannon also had Gavin Griffiths available.
