Therapy and nursing staff at Southport and Ormskirk Hospitals have been working hard to reduce the chance of patients having a fall.
Red walking frames are easier to see, and so are being used to help people get moving, and keep moving during a hospital stay.
After this month long trial, if the red frames have helped reduce falls, they may be rolled out across both hospitals.
Meg Langley, Head of Older People’s Care explains “This is one of several practical measures we are trying out to help our older patients get back on their feet as quickly as possible. Our fantastic teams are enthusiastically embracing these ideas, and we hope to see positive results very quickly.”
