It's been discussed since the late 1940's - but Ormskirk is no nearer to getting a much needed by pass despite ministerial visits, MP Rosie Cooper's campaigning and community concerns.
And will yesterday's fatal RTA on Park Road sway any future decisions on how to deal with the growing number of HGV's which are using the road on their way to Southport or the growing Burscough industrial parks?
QLocal's Roger Blaxall has approached the MP - well known for her campaigns in trying to get Government and LCC to commit to investing in such a scheme - for a comment.
In the meantime, the first floral tributes have appeared at the accident site in which a well known local woman lost her life.
Police visited the family this morning and it's thought she will be officially named soon along with the publication of a family tribute and photo.

Total and utter nonsense - no one apart from you Roger is linking what was a tragic event with unknown causes to Ormskirk not having a bypass.
What about all the lorries that regularly deliver to Argos, Morrisons, M and S Food and Aldi? Even with a bypass, those HGVs would still be passing through the centre of town.
Show a bit of respect and let the family of the lady grieve without creating more non stories to fill up your website.
