As a former Liverpool manager, Aughton's Roy Evans knows all about the roar of the Kop.
But the roar of traffic on the busy A59 - now that's another thing altogether...
And he and a number of other residents on the luxury Robins Bridge Meadows off Northway were quite happy when the Maghull developers ignored borough council planners to build a wooden fence a metre higher than allowed.
But the fence has now been cut down to size as these exclusive QLocal pictures show, a Council PR officer telling QLocal: "The Council made its position clear from the outset as to the details of the fence, including its acoustic qualities.
"These were approved in 2016 and required a close boarded wooden fence 1.8m high with landscaping behind. However the fence was erected with a height of some 2.8m and this resulted in complaints from local people.
"The developers were formally advised to reduce the height of the fence to that previously approved namely 1.8m and this has now been largely carried out."The reduction in the height of the fence results in a less oppressive appearance to the A59 and allows views of the trees and other landscaping for the development behind the fence."
