Residents who live on a quiet Ormskirk cul de sac value their privacy - and want to keep it that way.
They have now clubbed together to buy this portable barrier to stop any students or town centre workers parking at the top end of Windmill Avenue.
Said one resident last night: "This is a private road.
Why should every Tom, Dick and Harry park on it?"

where as i totally agree in what theyve done
i would of thought that without permission to do this they leave themselves open to anyone putting a claim in when a car gets damaged ,
just a thought .

It it is a totally private estate the residents have a very good chance of enforcing this direct action, I say good luck to them , The Redrow estate further up is still a private estate but is subjected to student, town and hospital attenders on a daily basis.

Great idea. Ormskirk's last cobbled street. Probably because deeds state that it's "unadopted" by the County Council. Hence the cobbles. Hence it is truly private & this will probably be legal. I hope it works for them.
