'News' that Roman remains had been found at the site of the Ormskirk's new bus station raised a smile or two on Monday morning.
Word went round town that a part of the site had been covered in tarpaulin after the 'remains' were found...
It gave the site manger a good laugh; he explained a that a few Victorian remains had been found - but nothing older.
County architects examined the site before work went ahead, he added.
"There have been no bats, no newts, no Roman remains or anything else for that matter!"
