Local MP Ashley Dalton had to leave Ormskirk's annual remembrance memorial service after being taken ill at Sunday morning's event.
She was helped into a police van by a senior officer just ten minutes after the start of the event held as customary outside St. Anne's RC Church.
Minutes earlier the van and a police car arrived awkwardly, sirens blaring, just as wreaths were about to be laid; there has been no word yet on Ms. Dalton's condition with Police simply confirming that a senior officer remained with her after the incident.
Leading the procession musically was the famous Lancashire Greenall's brass band, now based in Clock Face, St. Helens.
One member told QLocal reporter Roger Blaxall: "This is one of our favourite events.
"We especially love taking time out for refreshments at Wetherspoons after it's over."
